Blacklisted IP: how to request delisting

Landing on Spamhaus or SpamCop blocks delivery. Here's how to find out why and get removed.

First, understand why

Blocklists (Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda…) list IPs and domains with suspicious behaviour. Before requesting removal, find the cause: volume spikes, a compromised account, spam traps hit, missing authentication.

How to request delisting

• Go to the blocklist's site and find the removal form for your IP.
• Fix the cause before requesting: an immediate re-listing hurts reputation more.
• Some lists auto-remove after a quiet period: don't spam repeated requests.

Avoid a relapse

Monitor the IP with periodic checks, keep your list clean, and keep SPF/DKIM/DMARC in order.
